WHEN MUSIC BECOMES IMAGE
A series of three concerts of photography and music featuring Gilberto Maltinti, Lidia Dottore on piano, Gabriele Benigni on violin, Cristiano Califano on guitar and Lorenzo Rundo on viola.
Three evenings, three geographical and cultural “dreams”: America, Russia, Argentina. Distant worlds that dialogue through notes and find in photography a natural, emotional and narrative extension.
From the contemporary lyricism of Pat Metheny, to the deep tensions of Dmitri Shostakovich, to the visceral passions of Astor Piazzolla and Carlos Gardel. All bound together by the vision and critical analysis of photographs curated by Gilberto Maltinti, photographer and President of Casa della Fotografia di Roma.
Each time a surprise: works by great Russian authors (Alexander Rodchenko, Georgi Zelma, Boris Mikhailov), American masters (Ted Croner, Gregory Crewdson, Helen Levitt) and the unreleased Buenos Aires photographs taken by Gilberto Maltinti.
